Co-sponsored by the ICLRS and Notre Dame Law School’s Religious Freedom Initiative, the Civilizational Perspectives on Human Dignity for Everyone Everywhere conference focused beyond religious or secular conceptions of human dignity to the role of human dignity in various civilizational perspectives on law and society. A primary goal was to develop momentum for encouraging the United Nations General Assembly to adopt a resolution establishing a UN Human Dignity Day. An annual UN Human Dignity Day will serve as a complement to existing significant UN annual observances such as Human Rights Day (10 December), Religious Freedom Day (27 October), International Day of Tolerance (16 November), International Day of Commemoration in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust (27 January), and others.
